Refund policy

At Starboard we want to make sure you have the best possible time on the water. Products can therefore be returned and refunded when they don’t meet your expectations, and if the return conditions are met. Please note that Starboard only offers returns from purchases from us.star-board.com. Items purchased from an authorized dealer fall under the return policy of that specific dealer – please contact your dealer directly for more information.

Return and refund conditions

All items requested to be returned to Starboard are only eligible for a refund if the following conditions are met:

  • The returned items are registered with Customer Service before they are returned.
  • The items are returned within 30 days after the purchase.
  • The returned items are undamaged and don’t have any signs of wear or use
    • See our Warranty Return Policy below for damages that fall under warranty
  • The items are returned in their original undamaged packaging and with their original labels.
    • A 10% relabelling charge will be withheld from the refund if the returned items don’t have the original labelling attached.
  • The returned items need to include all parts that were originally included in the packaging (e.g. fins, pump, leash, paddle).

Free and promotional items are non-refundable. Free promotional items that were part of the purchase (e.g. buy item A, get item B for free) must also be returned. Failure to do so will result in the price of the item being deducted from the refund.

All items are inspected by our Warranty & Return Team before a refund is given.

Non-defective "on sale," "closeout" or "discounted" items are not eligible for return.

 

How to return an item

Go to our return form and fill in your order ID and email address to start the return process.


Return charges

  • The shipment of the returned items is not covered by Starboard.
  • The original shipping charges are non-refundable.


Return processing time

  • A return is generally received and processed within 10 work days. You’ll receive a confirmation that your items are received in the warehouse and if the refund is approved or declined.
  • Declined items are sent back to you on your own costs. Get in contact with our customer support if you are not sure about the return conditions to prevent unnecessary costs.
  • If the return is approved you will receive the refund within 5 work days.
  • Please contact our customer support if any of the time frames is not met.

Starboard Warranty

All Starboard inflatable SUPs have a warranty of at least 2 years. Paddles have 1 year. This warranty does not cover the following claim conditions:

  1. Damage or defects caused by impact with any materials or objects (incl. ramps and sliders).
  2. Damage or defects caused by collisions, abuse, misuse or accidental damage.
  3. Breakage or defects as a result of prior damages.
  4. Damage or defects caused by transport, loading, unloading, dropping, or out of water handling.
  5. Damage or defects caused by heel dents.
  6. Damage or defects caused by non-recreational use.
  7. Damage or defects caused by inappropriate storage or handling.
  8. Damage or defects caused by exposure to temperatures over 70°C and under 0°C.
  9. Damage or defects caused by natural events such as floods, earthquake, fire, etc.
  10. Damage or defects caused by alterations or modifications including the use of a larger fin than specified.
  11. Damage or defects caused by repairs.
  12. Damage or defects caused by the usage of the board after a claim is reported.
  13. Damage or defects caused by flat landings.
  14. Damage or defects caused by improper mounting or adjustment of bindings or footstraps.
  15. Any damage except manufacturing defects in material or workmanship.
  16. Damage or defects caused by storage of the board in closed, damp conditions (for example a wet board bag).
  17. Damage or defects caused by impact with the seafloor.

Send an email to customer service with the following information:

Contents:               Name, Order Number, Product Name, Product Serial number
Attachments:         Picture of the product serial number, the entire product, the damaged area
